REIKI
Reiki (pronounced RAY-kee) is an ancient form of hands-on healing to stimulate the energy centers (chakras) in the body. Primarily used for relaxation and stress reduction, Reiki has been shown to increase circulation which promotes higher levels of oxygen throughout the body. Reiki also stimulates lymph, a necessary element of the body’s auto-immune system.
A Reiki session involves numerous hand positions over the front and back of the body, encompassing the seven major energy centers as well as many minor energy centers and pulse points. It is not a form of massage that manipulates tissue. For specific treatment areas, extra energy is directed into the area of concern (head, chest, abdomen or extremities). Many practitioners use fragrance and music to enhance the session. The traditional length of treatment is one hour ($40.00).
Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment and does not guarantee any result, but is a complementary form of therapy that does not interfere with conventional treatment, surgery or pharmaceutical medicine. It works well with other forms of alternative therapy, including chiropractic care, massage, reflexology, etc. Reiki supports the belief that the body heals itself if able to function properly. Increased circulation and stimulation of lymph increases proper function of the body systems.
Reiki can also be used on animals with similar treatment methods.

CHAKRA BALANCING
The chakras are the energy centers of the body, controlling body functions, extremities and internal organs. Alternative healers and therapists believe that many dysfunctions of the body stem from emotional imbalances, excluding trauma and major diseases.
Having the chakras balanced opens the energy pathways (meridians) throughout the entire body, building up depleted energy centers, eliminating energy blockages and dispersing concentrated energy pockets.
The session involves the use of a pendulum to determine what chakras are closed and then utilizes Reiki to balance those that are out of alignment. Spectrum therapy (vibration therapy) may also be utilized, as each chakra responds to a determined color or tone. Chakra balancing can be incorporated into a full body Reiki treatment allowing the energy to distribute evenly throughout the body. The usual length of treatment is 30 minutes ($25.00) unless part of a full body treatment, which would be one hour in length ($40.00)

REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexologists believe that granular accumulations of waste matter concentrate around reflex points, in the form of uric acid and calcium crystals. The reflexologist will try to break these down in order to free “energy flow” along the zones, open blocked nerve pathways, and improve the blood supply to flush away toxins.
In addition to body organs, states of mind are said to be represented by certain areas of the feet, so that emotional problems are thought to respond well to this therapy. Reflexology is said to work best for disorders of the internal organs and for stress-related disorders.
Conditions that benefit from Reflexology are high blood pressure, stress, anxiety, insomnia, migraines, asthma, sinusitis, eczema, psoriasis, gout, wound healing, back pain, pain relief, menstrual problems and constipation.

CRANIAL SACRAL
Cranial Sacral Therapy focuses on the membranes encasing the brain and spinal cord. Practitioners believe that it is these membranes that generate the cranial rhythmic impulse (CRI) of cerebrospinal fluid, which affects the connective tissues linking all of the organs, bones, and muscles of the body. The aim of treatment is to ensure an even, rhythmic flow of CRI.
The client lies fully clothed on a treatment table while the practitioner applies subtle pressure with their hands on your head and at the base of your spine (the sacrum). Many people report feeling deeply relaxed during treatment, though some experience a spontaneous “unwinding” of tension, believed to result from the release of physical or emotional trauma in the body.
Conditions that benefit from Cranial Sacral Therapy are headaches, musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, depression, dyslexia and other learning difficulties, aftereffects of strokes and meningitis, aftereffects of stress or injury.
